Family: Hearn-Joslin

The Hearns and Joslins hold a special place in my heart. Jim Hearn is the pastor at the church I go to. I've known him, his wife Brenda, their kids and grandchildren for years. When they came to me and asked me to take their family photos I was honored. I had so much fun photographing them and think that we got some good shots. (Even if Max had to be bribed with licorice to smile.) Thanks for the awesome afternoon!

Gone Campin'

This past weekend my love and I decided to hit the wilderness in Denali National Park during our long weekend. It was very much needed. We've both had some tough and stressful weeks at work and had hardly seen each other so it was needed. It was so nice to get away from people and social networking for three days. I was SO happy that I didn't have 3G service up there because I had no temptation to get on Facebook at all! We had great weather, a fun campground, and gorgeous scenery. I absolutely loved it. Here are a few snapshots from our trip! (:

EveryBODY is beautiful.

I've debated uploading this for quite sometime, because well I'm a girl, and I will always see flaws in my body, no matter how confident I am. I'm not uploading this to get compliments or sympathy, I'm uploading this to make a point. To make a point to all the girls out there that are starving themselves to look like the girls they see in the magazines. Well girls, I'm here to tell you that those girls bodies aren't entirely real!!!
While I LOVE Photoshop and am a strong advocate on post processing your images, Photoshop can also be a dangerous tool.
The above image was taken one night, when I was goofing off in my bedroom. I had just gotten back from Photo School and had put on a little weight. When I pulled it into photo shop I decided to have a little fun. A short while later, I had the bottom image. When I looked at the before and after, I was shocked. I had just made a completely different body, in less than 30 minutes! Now, I'm not here to bash on Photoshop cause like I said, I LOVE Photoshop, I just want girls out there to be confident in who they are, no matter what your body looks like. And to stop trying to strive for the "perfection" we see in magazines. While, there are girls out there that naturally have that "perfect" body, not all of us do and we are all beautiful! (:

Senior: Gerriann

I've been dieing to photograph this lovely lady for quite some time now. When she semi-jokingly asked me to take her senior portraits on instagram, I jumped at the chance. This girl has got some killer eyes and some incredible confidence in front of the camera and it just shines through. I had such a blast hanging out and getting to know this lovely young lady.
